The purpose of the Dean/Director for Black Student Affairs is to provide vision, direction, assessment and supervision for the Office of Black Student Affairs (OBSA). Leadership responsibilities of this position also include serving as an advocate for students, particularly students of African descent. The Dean will identify areas of students’ academic, cultural and social/emotional needs through the collection of qualitative and quantitative data. This dynamic individual will leverage resources in order to develop and strengthen OBSA programs and services. The Dean/Director also has opportunities to create, develop and implement curricula for faculty, staff and students on diversity initiatives.
The Dean/Director of Black Student Affairs will collaborate with various offices of The Claremont Colleges (TCC) including but not limited to: the Deans of Students for TCC, Queer Resource Center (QRC), the Intercollegiate Department of Africana Studies (IDAS), TCC Alumni and Admissions Offices. The ideal candidate will develop strong relationships with students of TCC and encourage them to utilize the various resources across campus and within Black Student Affairs in order to maximize their academic and social experiences. The Dean/Director for Black Student Affairs has supervising and mentoring responsibilities for the staff.

The Return-to-Work (RTW) and Disability Administrator performs a variety of specialized and confidential duties and is responsible for the daily administration of the RTW program and Voluntary Disability Insurance (VDI) plan for The Claremont Colleges (TCC) by working with TCC Human Resources departments, medical providers, employees, insurance carriers, and the Employment Development Department (EDD).
